Mdina and Rabat

The former capital city of Mdina and neighbouring village Rabat saw the most gruesome battles during The Great Siege of 1565 and its high bastions tell the stories of the Maltese defense against the Ottoman invaders. The silent city, as it is called, is one of the few towns with boundary walls (another example being the central town of Victoria in Gozo, with its famous surrounding citadel). A must see for all who are interested in the history and culture of Malta and its people.

Valletta

The present day capital of Malta is also full of history and Maltese heritage and is built within some of the large bastions that feature in most parts of the greater harbour area. The presidential palace and its square, the upper barakka and its stunning view over the harbour, Fort St. Elmo and the square just outside of the capital that hosts the main bus terminus are a few of the interesting sites that Valletta has to offer.

The Blue Lagoon

Did you think paradise only exists on tropical islands, yet untouched by man? The Blue Lagoon offers some of the most crystal clear waters in the Mediterranean and is situated on the North-East side of Comino. Day trips are easy to find in Bugibba, Sliema and St. Julian’s areas and are relatively cheap. An unforgettable experience and therefore well worth the (short) trip! Dwejra and the Azure window

One of Gozo’s most popular sites for its unique natural architecture. Dwejra, also referenced as the inland see, is what looks like a small lake surrounded by tall rock walls, and is connected to the open sea by a cave structure. The Azure window is just around the corner and is an immense natural structure, carved out by the wind and sea and is a spectacular view also outside the summer season.
